  1. For the price paid, and the quality of sound, I would have purchased something with better sound quality. This product is below average in terms of output and quality. I expected a lot more than what I really got.

  2. Bought the Sony BDVIS1000 for a good price on Amazon. Ordered it along with a new Samsung LCD TV. Everything arrived on-time, undamaged and all works well together in house family room.

    Thanks a bunch,

  3. I have used the sound system for barely a month, but just love every bit of it.I hope sony comes up with a superior product than this one since they took it out of production.Considering it’s features & sound quality,i wanted to purchase another one by the end of the year for my other family. Though it’s a bit expensive,i prefer it to the bose because of the blue ray feature and digital sound.

  4. Could not believe the sound form such small speakers. Everything works great and easy to use.

  5. I bought this unit regardless all the reviews about the rear speakers not pairing. It’s a solvable problem, it’s a pity Sony hasn’t offered a more hassle-free solution (i.e. shipping the transceiver adaptor when purchasing the unit#

    Cons:

    - Pairing of rear speakers:

I’ve experienced the same wireless connectivity issues as all others. When you use a cheap HDMI cable and set the system’s output resolution higher than 480i, the rear speakers won’t pair. Called Sony, spent 1.5hours for this known issue #ridiculous on Sony’s part) and they sent me the transceiver adaptop/extender, which solved the problem. This extender is bulky and adds cable behind your system. Also, I purchased a high quality HDMI cable, and I’m now using the system without Sony’s extender. Works perfectly, no problems pairing anymore.

    - Lack of features:

It’s nice piece of equipment, it should have other online features such as NetFlix etc.

    - Speaker size limiting sound:

While the system is really powerful and sounds great, when you listen to your favorite stereo CD the small speakers are not enough to deliver good, clear sound. My music sounds better through $30 headphones.

    Pros:

    - Main unit looks great

    - Speaker size easy to fit anywhere

    - 5.1 sound for movies, sports etc. is absolutely awesome

    - AFB Multi mode is good for non-5.1 sources: makes the sound come out of all speakers

    - Great DVD upscaling

Overall I’m really happy with the system’s sound and picture quality. I’ve had the unit for over a month. I would recommend it especially if you find it on sale.
