Samsung HT-BD3252T/XAA Blu-ray Home Theater System
I purchased two Samsung HD TVs and Home Theater Systems. All worked as advertised except one Home Theater System (Model HD-BD1200T) quit working. I won’t bore anyone with the play-by-play experience I have had with Samsung warranty service, but suffice it to say that after numerous conversations with multiple levels of Samsung Customer Service and the passage of about 8 weeks, I have just today (as requested by Samsung) delivered the whole system to UPS. Samsung says that there are no parts to fix my unit, that the unit is no longer available for a replacement and that they will ship me a new and comparable unit when they receive the whole system back in California. I hope this happens. However, in the meantime, I am out additional money to have UPS pack the speakers and controller with no real assurance that the very inefficient Samsung Customer Service apparatus will deliver.

I bought this system on sale at Best Buy. The setup was difficult because the manual is quite inadequate. The type is small and it doesn’t explain why one is supposed to do different things. E.g., how to set up the speakers. Also I couldn’t get one of the speakers to work with my Ipod plugged in, had to talk to 3 reps before it was agreed that they need to send me a new IPod cradle. Systems where the IPod cradle is an integrated part of the system wouldn’t have this problem.
One thing that really annoys me is that the system is advertised to stream movies from Netflix and Blockbuster and I spent a fair amount of time trying, unsuccessfully, to connect. It wasn’t until I talked to a tech person that I found out that one has to order a separate Samsung USB adapter, which cost, with handling and shipping, about $65! If I hadn’t spent so much time setting it up and didn’t need real wireless speakers, I’d be tempted to return the system.
Otherwise, it has good sound and works pretty well.
I found out, after receiving the USB adapter, that it’s the same device that was included with the system. What the tech really should have told me was how to configure the system for streaming Netflix, not telling me to buy a new adapter. I can send the unneeded adapter back but I am going to have to pay for shipping, will have to pay a 15% restocking fee and will not be refunded the $10.25 I was charged for shipping and handling. I argued with a supervisor but was told there is nothing they can do about this charge. I will never buy anything complicated from Sansung again.

I purchased this home theater system to compliment my 52″ Samsung 240mhz LCD TV and it’s wonderful! I’m not an audiophile but the sound quality is amazing for my living room which is small. I have a house but still keep the volume low as I found it really gets up there! The setup was a breeze. I’ve owned HTIBs before so I was familiar with the setup, which is standard. I barely read the manual but it’s well written if you need it. The features are almost otherworldy! The Blu-ray disc player plays CDs and DVDs in addition to Blu-ray discs. It even has technology to make your DVDs look better! With an Internet connection, you can access Internet content such as Pandora’s Box, Youtube, Netflix and Blockbuster so that you can stream movies. It has an Ipod dock for playing your Ipod and an antenna for FM radio. The wireless speakers are definitely a bonus and a much-needed feature in spaces like mine with hardwood floors. With them, you don’t have speaker wires running across the floor. The whole set looks great as well with the glossy black finish, chunky subwoofer and tall front speakers. I purchased some speaker stands to put the rear speakers on. The whole set looks great with my TV and makes my living room look like an entertainment paradise. This is definitely a nice set for the price. I’m super pleased with this purchase.

Based on the reviews, I didn’t expect much, but I was very surprised when I heard the sound quality. It was full with sound and it was very easy to put together. I would recommend this to my friends and family.

THIS HOME THEATER SYSTEM IS OUTSTANDING. I LOVE THAT IT WAS SO EASY TO SET UP. THE SOUND QUALITY IS EXCELLENT. THE WIRELESS REAR SPEAKERS HAVE NOT GIVEN ME ANY PROBLEM AT ALL. DESPITE WHAT OTHERS HAVE SAID ABOUT INTERFERENCE WITH OTHER WIRELESS DEVICES. ONE HEADS UP HOWEVER, IF YOU PURCHASE THIS SYSTEM. MAKE SURE YOUR WIRELESS MODULE THAT TRANSPORTS THE SIGNAL TO THE BASE IS OFF THE GROUND AND NOT BLOCKED BY ANY FURNITURE. IT NEEDS A CLEAR SHOT TO SEND THE SIGNAL BACK TO THE BLUE RAY PLAYER OR THE REAR SPEAKERS WILL NOT FUNCTION. FOUND THAT OUT THE HARD WAY. ALMOST SENT BACK THE SYSTEM WHEN THEY WOULD NOT WORK, WHEN I FIGURED OUT THAT MY COUCH WAS BLOCKING THE SIGNAL. ANOTHER GREAT FEATURE ON THE SYSTEM IS THE WIRELESS TRANSMITTER TO YOUR ROUTER. HOWEVER, I HARDWIRED MY SIGNAL WITH A ETHERNET CABLE DIRECTLY INTO THE BACK OF THE UNIT FOR THE INTERNET CONNECTION. THE NET FLICKS, PANDORA AND UTUBE FUNCTIONS ARE AWESOME. I DROPPED HBO FROM MY CABLE SERVICE BECAUSE IT IS SO EASY TO WATCH MOVIES AND DOWNLOAD DIRECTLY THRU MY BLU RAY PLAYER. I WOULD TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS SYSTEM. HOPE THIS HELPS ANYONE WHO IS ON THE FENCE ABOUT BUYING IT.
