These sound and look great. They were cheapest on amazon and I am quite happy with them. I went to Best Buy to hear them against the competition, Yamaha’s and Onkyo’s no comparison. These blow them all away….

The Polk satellite speaker’s sound great what a deal I had purchased this speaker for my bedroom I wanted something small and compact and easy to install. Let start with the lows first. Speaker mounting brackets are not very well designed all thought they work and serve there purpose. Next complaint is the speaker wire connectors, they could be built with a little more thought in mind. Whit that said the speaker, performs and sounds amazing for the size and price. Highs are clear and crisp and lows are smooth and non scratchy. I v read many complaints about the subwoofer not being powerful enough but for my room and hardwood floors I am stuck turning the volume down to keep it in balance with the rest of the system ,so unless you’re a rapper I would say it sound more then efficient. Other features include a low pass control and a volume control knob. It also has a toggle switch for power on, auto, and off, and a toggle switch for the phase control. All in all these speaker are a great buy and sound very good with movies and music. Note these speakers are paired with a Pioneer elite vsx-23thx they have also been connected to a cheap RCA receiver which they performed well

I love the Polk Audio Home Theater System. I love coming home and watching a dvd and or listening to my music. The sound quality is crisp, clear and moving. I feel like I’m at the movies especially when the floor starts to vibrate. You know when a sound system is good is when your son brings his college friends home to watch a movie and doesn’t mind you being there. Quality at an affordable price is the best sound to my ears. I am sure there are even better system out there than this and at higher prices…who cares! I can’t say enough about how good the sound is. Oh… wait a minute yes I can. I was watching a movie with my dog Maxx. He was laying on the couch next to me when all of a sudden he jumps up and starts barking. Yes you got it, he thought there was another dog barking outside when it was only the movie. The barking Maxx heard was the background sound to a talking scene. Hmmm!!! What does that tell you about the clearity? Man’s best friend is proof that the sound is so real it can even fool an animal. I am so done with having to have to spend a lot of momey to get anything. I did my homework, asked the correct questions and I ended up with a sound system that would give the competitors a run for their money. Love it! The money I saved I went out and bought a new 54″ plasma tv. Happy New Year and good luck.

THIS POLK SYSTEM ROCKS. SPEAKERS SOUND GREAT . SUBWOOFER ROCKS!! IM PUSHING THEM WITH A YAMAHA 465 RECEIVER. BLUE RAYS AND DVD,S SOUND CRISP AND CLEAN. GREAT SYSTEM FOR THE PRICE. I WAS NOT DISSAPOINTED. MY LIVING ROOM IS FILLED WITH GREAT SOUND AND THE SUB PRODUCES A GREAT AMOUNT OFBASS. WOULD RECOMMEND THIS SYSTEM HANDS DOWN. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. ONLY MINUS IS THE FLIMSY SPEAKER CONNECTIONS ON THE SATALITES.

I bought this after a good week of searching for about $350. My goal was to get my Samsung LCD, Sony dr3400ES AV, PS3 (blue ray player), DVD, Tovo, iPod, and Media Center all interfaced with a set of great surround speakers to be able to listen to anything on any one of these devices. I did not want to go above $500 either but at the same time, I did not want the very lower end.
My last choices were this and Polk Audio RM6750 which was about $200 (a lot cheaper). Both had great reveiews. I chose 705 because it had smaller speakers and newer look in addition to great sound. The speakers and base occupy less room.
They are connected to a Sony AV dr3400ES and they produce magnificent sound. Whether it is mp3 music, blu ray movies, or hi def TV, the combination gives great sound with any decoding I have tried: Dolby variations, DTS,THX, stereo, Sony Cinema, …
It fills the whole living room with great crisp sound and the bass can really shake the whole house for those who love bass. It was easy to set up though if you do not have a Subwoofer OUT on your AV or other equipment, there is a way to connect it to get the bass to the Subwoofer using a couple more speaker wires (older AVs) using the amplifier connections. If your AV has a subwoofer OUT, then you need a subwoofer wire with an adaptor to connect to the subwoofer here. It also has an amplifier which is specially useful if you want directly connect to an equipment bypassing your AV or amplifier.
I love these speakers and they sound great and look great as well.
