  1. It is a great product for the price but you a very limited in what you can connect to the unit. I guess I’m old school because I wanted to connect my multi-disc CD change to the unit so I could listen to music and watch tv at the same time. The system doesn’t allow you to connect more than one input source (e.g., TV).

If you have everything on an Ipod it would probably be great for you.

  3. 11/09 Amazon added this review to the new SC-PT670 system, review was intended for the SA-HT940: …DID love mine…now I don’t. 1. After little over a year of very conservative use I get an error message “F61″ which means check and correct speaker cable connections. After re-re-re- checking ALL and hooking unhooking, plugging, unplugging…still nothing. Call hahaha…customer support. If I could have a moment, finally indicated it was a power supply error…don’t think so. The Repair man phone # provided to me was not even in my “state” and when I called they indicated they did not even work on home theaters. SOOO GET an extended warranty…because time is out on mine. 2. Rear speakers after trying all of the adjustments and tweaks options…works…just ok. out of 10 rating would give them a 4. Have the wireless box..no issues, wireless works fine, but the speakers are weak. FYI: I have never abused the speakers by blowing them to the higher end of range. Other than that it has been a great system for my TV, music, and movie needs…now it is crap! I thought surely the speakers would go before the system. Anybody need a Wireless Box or 5 working speakers??????? NOW I have the SC-PT670 ($219.99 Dell Site) which does NOT have wireless system ..an extra $117-$130 WHEN you can find it, BO…still looking. Bought it mainly to go with the wireless box I have, not the same hook-up. The SC-PT670 same width reciver but much smaller depth/shelf space. After tweaking the speakers…it will do for my room size: 16 x 20. Again the surround speakers are weak. For the $$$, it will do until the fatal “F61 error.

  4. Bought this system as a first home theater system.Am very happy with the sound quality and dvd player.Hook up is easy. But if you want to

have the rear speakers wireless get the sc-pt770 system. The wireless kit comes with that system NOT with the 670.I ordered the wireless kit and its been on back order over month when this was written in August of 09.So ,like the system but I would buy the 770…12/1/09 follow up…wireless kit never off back order, and company ordered from canceled order saying no kits in site for long time.So DONT buy this set up if you need a wset of wireless rear speakers

  5. So I just set up the system and hooked it up to my 42″ Panasonic Plasma (via HDMI and Optical connections, which I recommend) and was blown away by the sound, crisp highs and deep lows. The smart setup which includes a microphone was easy and walked you thru everything you need to do. It works great with the “VIERA Link” all I have to do is turn the TV on or off and it comes on or shuts down with it. Havent tried the Ipod connection, will do that tonight… I connected my iphone and it’s pretty cool that you can watch videos you have on it thru the connection on your TV.
